Ingredients

* 1 whole frying chicken, cut up
* six cups vegetable oil (to eight c )

Marinate

* four cups water
* 1 tbs salt
* 1/2 teaspoonful msg

Coating

* 1 egg, beaten
* one c milk
* 2 cups all purpose flour
* two and a half tea-spoons salt
* three quarter tea-spoon fresh grind black pepper
* 3/4 teaspoon msg
* one tea spoon garlic powder
* one tsp onion powder
* one tea spoon poultry seasonings
* 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasonings
* one quarter teaspoon nutmeg
* one quarter tea-spoon allspice
* 1/4 tea-spoon sage

Instructions

1. Trim any extra fat and skin from the pieces of chicken . Preheat the oil in the deep-fryer to three hundred – fifty degrees to three hundred – sixty degrees .

2. Bring together the water , salt and MSG for the marinate in a big bowl. Add the chicken to the bowl and let sit for 20 mins. . Turn the chicken a couple times as it marinates .

3. Bring together the beaten egg and milk in a medium bowl. In another medium bowl, mix the rest of the coating ingredients (flour, salt, pepper and MSG).

4. When the chicken has marinated , move out each piece to paper towels so that excess liquid will drain off. Working with one piece at a time, first coat the chicken with the dry flour mixture, then the egg and milk mixture, and then back into the flour. Be sure that each piece is coated very generously. Place the chicken on a dish or cookie sheet until each piece is coated .

5. Drop the chicken, 1 piece at a time into the oil . Fry half of the chicken at a time ( four pieces) for twelve to 15 minutes , or until it is golden brown. You should be sure to stir the chicken around halfway through the cooking time so every piece cooks evenly.

6. Remove the chicken to a rack or towels, to drain for about 5 mins before enjoying .
